Happy Turkey Day!

I just wanted to take the time to wish everyone a happy Thanksgiving!

While I have been anxiously awaiting Honey Baked Ham's smoked turkey and Marie Callendar's apple pie, it hasn't prevented me from realizing just how truly fortunate I am - and how thankful I should be for everything in my life.

It is days like today where you are reminded of how you should stop complaining and just be thankful for what you have. Who cares if the turkey overcooked? At least you were able to have the turkey at all. The apple pie wasn't from Marie Callendar's? Hey, it still is an apple pie (even if it is not as good! ;)). There are many familes that would give anything for a nice meal, so it is important to count your blessings.

In the midst of all the craziness that surrounds us, it is important to step back and realize just how much we have. Even though the upcoming year will be a bit crazy for me with a possible internship and graduating, I can't help but smile through it all. After all, how many people can complain about not having enough time to do homework because of a great internship opportunity and just spending time with people you love? While I am sure there are a lot of people in this situation, I like to think that there aren't too many!

And so I will leave you with this thought: If you find yourself frequently complaining about the little, insignificant things, chances are that you really don't have much to complain about at all. :-)

An excellent perspective on a holiday all too often characterized by how much food you can eat, and how much money you can save while shopping on Black Friday.

Love your posts, Kelly!
